MICRONEEDLING

in Walton on Thames, Surrey

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling is a non-invasive but extremely effective rejuvenation treatment which harnesses your skin's natural ability to repair itself.

Using very tiny needles to puncture the surface of the skin, it stimulates a healing response, causing your skin to kickstart its collagen and elastin production.

MICRONEEDLING FOR THE FACE

Microneedling involves using a handheld device to create hundreds of microscopic needle impressions in the skin on the face or body.

As the treatment pen is passed over the face, it creates microinjuries and prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to mount a healing response, delivering a natural collagen boost.

The tiny channels in the skin made by the needles also allows for deeper absorption of topical treatments after treatment.

MICRONEEDLING FOR THE BODY

(MILLION DOLLAR BODY)

This treatment is excellent for stretch marks, the minimally invasive micro needling technique involves a series of tiny, very fine needles that are passed over the skin, creating micro injuries which trigger new collagen and elastin synthesis as the skin begins to naturally repair itself.

These micro injuries stimulate the growth of collagen, the scaffolding under the skin, which then improves the appearance of stretch marks and scars a course is recommend for maximum effective results.

  • How many treatments do I need?

A course of 4 to 6 is advised. One session every 4 to 6 weeks for optimal results. However, the number of sessions you'll need will ultimately depends on your individual goals and skin condition.

  • Does it hurt?

While you may still feel pressure or a sensation similar to scratching during your procedure, you shouldn't experience any actual discomfort. If you do experience any discomfort with your microneedling procedure, it's likely to happen on the more bony areas of your face – your jawline, forehead and hairline.

  • How old do you have to be to have the treatment?

18+ is the legal age for this procedure ID will be required upon treatment.

  • Can you have the treatment when pregnant?

This treatment is not suitable for pregnant clients.

  • What can I expect after treatment?

Your skin will be red after micro needling.

Using a good moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated will help minimize the redness, this will subside in 2/3days.

Slight Bruising and swelling. This is nothing to be concerned about this is usually faint enough to be covered up with makeup after 24hrs. Some people may also experience some mild swelling after micro needling.

Rough skin and visible marks. You may get a few lumps and bumps but this is totally normal as your skin has been through an elective trauma.

After your procedure, your skin will feel and look different. It might feel rough to the touch for a few days, and you may notice some slight visible marks on your skin. Both of these effects are caused by the microinjuries created by the punctures. As your skin heals, these marks will soon fade and your skin will become smoother than it was before.

Minimal micro needling downtime. The inflammatory effect of micro needling is short. Within just 12-24 hours, your skin should fade from red to pink and the swelling should go down, though you may experience some sensitivity for up to 48 hours.

Stay away from ibuprofen. Micro needling relies on your body’s natural inflammatory process to stimulate cell regeneration, so it is highly recommended that you stay away from anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen. These medications will interfere with your body’s recovery process and affect your results. Use a cool compress to soothe any discomfort or swelling.

Peeling might start 3-5 days after treatment. Peeling is a normal part of the micro needling healing process, caused by the increased cell turnover.

Schedule your next appointment for 4-6 weeks. You can safely repeat the procedure every 4-6 weeks until you achieve your desired results.

  • Can I wear make up following treatment?

As with any facial it is recommended that you wait 24 hours before applying any makeup to allow the skin to heal.

  • What is the aftercare?

    • Use SPF daily
    • Apply serums and moisturisers
    • No chlorine for 24 hours
    • No exfoliation for 7 days after treatment
    • No heat treatments for 48 hours sun/sauna/steam
    • Stay well hydrated
    • Wash your hands before you touch your face.
    • Avoid any skin care product that contains harsh chemicals meant to exfoliate. Avoid anything that’s scented, or has active ingredients: don’t use retinoid, glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), vitamin C for the first 48 hours after microneedling.
    • Once 2 full days have passed, you might want to gradually add products back into your daily beauty routine instead of doing your usual regimen, especially if you use products that have strong anti-aging formulas.
